Reports are abound stating that Pope John Paul the Second is on a fast track to becoming a saint. I remember PJP2 and I even got to see him while he visited New Orleans. Let me say that his visit created a rock star atmosphere with t shirts and posters being sold including PJP2 cups, beer mugs and stickers. (let's not forget, this was New Orleans)

I must also say that I am a devoted Catholic. So, let's be clear about that. I think PJP had a huge impact on the world and when he was elected Pope, he was so young and vibrant.

I just don't know about these miracles that he is said to have performed. One is curing a woman of a brain tumor who prayed to him and the second is curing a woman of Parkinson.  How can these miracles be proven. Someone can say they prayed to "whom ever" and got what they wanted. I'm not being "flipping" here, but what I consider a miracle is walking on water, flying without wings or an airplane, I just don't know about these claims.

Can't we just say that PJP2nd was a great man and the Vatican thinks he deserves to be a saint. I could appreciate that more than trying to get me to believe these miracle which I find to be "sketchy" at best.

Now before I get hate e mail and mail, let me be really clear, I think he deserved to be named a Saint, he's done some really good things. But, let's not forget how the church was in much turmoil during his tenor also.

What do you think?
