‘Rising Star’ on ABC with Brad Paisley Debuts with Sluggish Ratings

ABC thought they had a home run with the new talent show 'Rising Star' that debuted Sunday Night. On the judge's panel was one of country's favorite stars, Brad Paisley.

Unfortunately, according to Variety.com, the opening nights rating numbers were not impressive. Variety reports:

In Nielsen’s metered-market overnights, “Rising Star” did a 5.1 household rating/9 share to a 3.2/5 for “America’s Got Talent,” which regularly airs on Tuesdays.

Could the problem be the lead in show "Wipe Out" or is the show's format confusing with viewers tweeting in their vote but first have to download the app?

I'm curious to see what Bismarck-Mandan thinks about Rising Star on ABC. What are your thoughts?
