Just in case you missed it, veteran meteorologist Rob Marciano has left Entertainment Tonight to continue to follow his first and true passion, the weather.

Marciano is joining ABC News as Senior Meteorologist for Good Morning America Weekend and will join the Extreme Weather Team for ABC.

Marciano left CNN  to join ET in November of 2012.

I couldn't be prouder of Marciano as he worked at KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, LA from 1994-1997 before leaving for  WVIT in West Haven, Cincinnati. From there his career took off and went national.

Rob and I also rode out Hurricane Rita in September of 2005. I was working in radio in Lake Charles and Marciano came to cover the storm for CNN. Rob and I hunkered down at a local casino to ride out the storm, and later he used our facility to get some of his reports to CNN, as our facility had generated power after the storm.

Rob is a true professional and I know his passion for weather. I was somewhat surprised that he left his weather gig for the ET desk, but I know how talented his is and knew he'd do well at ET.

It's always good to follow your passion!

Good Luck Rob!
