Thunderstorms are being forecast for Memorial Day Monday. Plan accordingly.

According to Accuweather, severe thunderstorms are possible in Bismarck for Memorial Day where we can potentially see strong winds and hail.

Thunderstorms can sometimes come out of nowhere even if for part of the day it seems nice and sunny.

The National Weather Service says that thunderstorms are most likely to occur after 4pm. If you have outdoor plans in the early part of the afternoon, it is possible you could avoid the storms.

But be aware that if you have any tents up, umbrellas or anything else that can be damaged by heavy rain or wind, you will want to take those down and bring them inside before 4pm.

The National Weather Service says up to a half an inch of rainfall is possible.

When disaster strikes, Townsquare Media’s Severe Weather Action Team (S.W.A.T.) keeps you informed. It is recommended that you keep a battery powered radio handy at all times and keep your radio tuned to Cool 98.7, Hot 97.5, 96.5 The Fox, 103.3 US Country, or Supertalk 1270 when severe weather sweeps through your community.
