Unstable air and the warmer temperatures will bring a chance of severe thunderstorms for the central and western portions of the state. (Tuesday, 6/21)

According to the National Weather Service in Bismarck, there is a slight chance of severe weather in the central and western portions of the state including Minot, Fort Yates, Bismarck, Mandan, Williston and New Salem and areas to the Montana state line. This area should include areas East of Bismarck as the day progresses.

The new definitions from the National Weather Service mean there is a chance of strong thunderstorms, hail and possible tornado activity plus damaging winds.

Because of the low humidity, marginal winds and dry conditions, there is a RED FLAG FIRE WARNING, in the most Southeastern corner of the state into South Dakota and Montana. This means the conditions are favorable for fire and no open or unmonitored fires should take place.

The Townsquare Severe Weather Action Team (SWAT) will continue to monitor the weather conditions and update our listeners if severe weather conditions and advisories are implemented.
