The 2015 Emmy Awards have reached their biggest award of the night, and only one can win the statue. Game of Thrones has officially taken home the statue for Outstanding Drama Series, and very surprisingly so.

The 2015 Emmys are upon us, hosted by Brooklyn Nine-Nine star and SNL alum Andy Samberg, and the competition is arrestingly steep. Will this be Mad Men‘s year? What about Tatiana Maslany? Now that Upfronts 2015 have entered the scheduling phase, we thought most of the major renewals, cancellations and pickups had delivered their biggest surprises. Not so apparently, as FOX has decided to put American Idol out to pasture after 15 seasons, ending the reality singing competition for good next year.
