The biker gang shooting in Texas that is getting national attention is raising safety concerns for the annual Sturgis Rally in South Dakota.

Sturgis will be celebrating the 75th  anniversary in August and with the celebration will be record breaking crowds. With the crowds have come safety concerns after the biker gang shootings in Texas.

Authorities in South Dakota have reached out to Texas officials to stay up to date on the shooting.

Sturgis City Manager Daniel Ainslie says officials will be ''vigilant to ensure the safety'' of rally-goers. He says additional law officers were already planned because of the expected large crowd.

Officials in SD plan to keep the command center open longer than the rally days of Aug. 1-8th, operated by the Division of Criminal Investigation in South Dakota.
