The Cheapest States to Own a Car? You Could Be Surprised!
Bankrate.com has listed to most and least expensive states to own a car.
Here's how they came up with the list according to Bankrate.com-
Bankrate analyzed the cost of gasoline, repairs and insurance in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Labor and parts data were provided by CarMD.com, while gas spending was calculated with statistics from GasBuddy.com and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Insurance costs were compiled from National Association of Insurance Commissioners statistics.
The Midwest are among the cheapest states to own and operate a car while the South was the most expensive area. The cheapest states included Iowa at #1 followed by Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin and Idaho. The bottom of the list honors belong to Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida and coming in last is Wyoming. South Dakota come in at #11 and North Dakota figured at #29.
