According to KFYR-TV the Mandan library will be getting some updates. Energy Transfer Partners donated $3 million for the library to be updated. The city commision, last Tuesday, voted to move on with the plan to the design stage. This is great for the city of Mandan for the library to get updated. The rice bowl has been located above the Mandan library for over 20 years will be moving to a new location this summer.

Mandan Library Director Jackie Hawes said, "It's becoming more of a reality for us now, and so very much the excitement is growing, and then just looking forward to some of those projects we're going to have to do." The plans add a garage for the bookmobile which is currently being housed about six miles away from the library. The library also plans to add more meeting rooms and more space for staff. They will still need to fund raise for furniture and supplies.
