The Most Sleep Deprived States in the Country
Need some zzzzz's? Feeling a bit tired? Do you feel like you never get enough sleep? A new survey released today show that 75% of the country feels sleep deprived.
The survey was conducted by Sleep Number. They survey listed the most rested and most sleep deprived states in the country. I know you're wondering where NoDak figured in the survey.
According to the study, most folks get an average 6.7 hours of sleep a night. Experts say you need at least 7-9 hours a night. Some people get as little at 5.5 hours or less a night. The results are based on 5,314 survey responses nationwide.
The most restful states include (in hours)
1. Idaho: 7.12
2. (tie) New Hampshire: 7.06
2. (tie) Vermont: 7.06
4. Montana: 6.95
5. Oregon: 6.94
The sleepiest states are (in hours)
1. Georgia: 6.09
2. Hawaii: 6.28
3. Nevada: 6.31
4. Oklahoma: 6.36
5. Arizona: 6.39
North Dakota did well. We're getting rest and ranked #20 with 6.8 hours of sleep. 36% surveyed in the state feel they don't get enough sleep. Are you in that number?
