Hunters are ready to take to the fields for the season opener of Pheasant in North Dakota.

The season is opening earlier this year as the state legislature passed a law requiring the season to open no later than Oct 12. This means the pheasant hunting season will no longer always open on the second Saturday in October. This is a change to a 20+ year tradition in North Dakota.

If your a pheasant hunter, you will notice the ND Fish and Game calendars show a different date, this is due to the fact the change in the law came after the calendars were printed.

The bag limit is three, and possession limit is 12.

Hunting hours are one-half hour before sunrise to sunset.

The law is different for out-of-state hunters. You can get the complete details on pheasant season from the NDGF website.
