It seems that no matter what area you look at, North Dakota is in the top of every category. When it comes to economy, jobs and employment, North Dakota most recently has always has been in the top 2 or 3 percent of great places to live and raise a family. Yes indeed, we have it good in NoDak!

Here we have a survey that grades each state for the quality of life for expecting mothers. This survey ranks and grades each state in the nation. The National Partnership for Women and Families' third edition of Expecting Better, examines the laws governing each state for expecting mothers in terms of taking time off during pregnancy and once their baby arrives. Even though the survey show how things are getting better for expecting parents, it also proves that we have a long way to go, and North Dakota ranks at the bottom of states that is parent friendly.

How the report did this is by- each state is assigned a letter grade based on certain criteria — like job-protected medical leave for pregnancy, childbirth, pregnancy accommodations and workplace protection for nursing mothers — and how it's improved upon the limited federal laws.
