On a hot day like today, it's important to be careful. Here's a list of what extreme heat can do to you.  

  1. Heat makes you feel Ill: As you lose water while you sweat, it's important to rehydrate otherwise a salt imbalance can occur and you get cramps and that nauseous feeling of being sick.
  2. Heat exhaustion can set in: Ok you've decided not to rehydrate, now you have issues with heat exhaustion.
      • Dizziness or fainting
      • Confusion
      • Excessive sweating
      • Dark-colored urine
      • Cool, pale or clammy skin
      • A headache
      • Nausea or vomiting
      • Rapid and weak pulse
      • Muscle cramps
      • Fatigue
  1. Heat Stroke is a possibility: Hopefully, it doesn't come to this. The most serious form of heat injury usually happens when you get prolonged exposure to high temperatures for a long period of time. Here are the symptoms
      • Body temperature above 103 degrees
      • No sweating
      • A severe headache
      • Confusion or disorientation
      • Red, hot and dry skin
      • Nausea or vomiting
      • Rapid pulse
      • Seizures
      • Loss of consciousness
      • Muscle weakness or cramps
  1. You could die: Yes I said it, if not treated properly the extreme heat could allow you to die. 130 People in the US die from Heat each year so it's important to be very careful when the weather gets this hot.
