Trial Delayed For Man Charged in North Dakota ODs

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Trial has been pushed back for an Oregon man accused of supplying a powerful synthetic drug that led to several drug overdoses in North Dakota.

Proceedings for Brandon Hubbard, of Portland, Oregon, were scheduled to begin Tuesday. Hubbard has pleaded not guilty in federal court to several charges, including conspiracy to distribute controlled substances resulting in serious bodily injury and death.

Defense attorney Jeff Bredahl asked for the delay because the case is complicated and the evidence in the case is being gathered from throughout the United States and Canada. Prosecutors did not object to the motion.

Authorities say several people have gotten sick from ingesting powdered fentanyl. Hubbard and three Grand Forks residents are accused of distributing drugs that resulted in two overdose deaths.
