According to Kx News, on Saturday February 15, 2020 two structures in Bismarck caught fire just hours apart from each other. At around 4:00 a.m. a passerby saw the flames on University Drive and called it in. The first fireman that arrived on scene saw smoke and flames coming from a detached garage. The firemen searched the garage and it was unoccupied and no injuries were reported. A total of 14 firefighters were on scene, Bismarck Police Department and Metro Ambulance were also assisting.

The second fire was reported just hours after the first one. The report of the second fire came in just after 7 a.m. The Bismarck Fire Department was dispatched to flames coming from a home in the 200 Block of East Ave E. The fire is thought to have started in the entryway and no one was home at the time. The damage is estimated to be more than $85,000.

Both fires was under investigation to determine the cause of the fires. The Bismarck Fire Department had a total of 16 responding firefighters, as well as the Bismarck Police Department and Metro Ambulance.
