The cold air will settle across the region all weekend with dangerous wind chill values throughout the weekend according to the National Weather Service in Bismarck.

How cold? Very cold. This will be the coldest air since winter started and the wind chill values will be dangerously low. The temperatures will rebound after the weekend to more average for this time of year for the region.

For Friday (1/8) temperatures will continue to drop all day. Friday night the area will be in the sub-zero range for an over night low. The wind chill will be very harsh. Saturday, the area will not rebound much with daytime highs in the zero to 1 or 2 above. Wind chills again will be rough. Saturday's over night low will be in the minus 10- 25 range with wind chills, possible as low as minus 30. There is not much moisture with this system, just very cold air.
