If you have been following the story about South Dakota Attorney General, Jason Ravnsborg, you know how shocking the news surrounding the situation is. In September of 2020, Ravnsborg hit and killed Joseph Boever. Now, more information has been released to the public about the events of that horrific night.

Washington Post has video of the interview that took place with Ravnsborg some time after Boever's body was discovered. In the video, the police interviewers reveal that the Attorney General's phone showed signs of activity around the time he hit Boever. But the most shocking tidbit of information came out when one officer said that Boever's glasses were found INSIDE OF RAVNSBORG'S VEHICLE. "That means his face came through the windshield," said one officer.

So, what is happening in the situation as of now? Well, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem called for the Attorney General to resign his position - he has not done that. Now, articles of impeachment have been filed against Ravnsborg. Get the full details about the Attorney General's current job situation here.

Now, let us talk about the charges filed against Ravnsborg - he is being charged with three misdemeanors for hitting and killing Boever. Argus Leader reports that he "will face charges for operating a vehicle while using a mobile or electronic device, a lane driving violation for driving outside of his lane and careless driving."

At least some people in authority are trying to do the right thing and make sure justice is served in South Dakota. In North Dakota, public officials can get caught red-handed in the act of reckless driving, and still be re-elected as the State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
