WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — The northwestern North Dakota city of Williston has settled a lawsuit filed by a Florida-based advertising agency over signs in the city.

The City Commission in August 2013 denied sign applications from Great Plains Outdoor Advertising, saying the signs did not conform with city guidelines. Great Plains then sued in state district court.

The Williston Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1xhigpj ) that the settlement agreement reached through mediation includes undisclosed compensation and also gives Great Plains the right to put up signs at six sites in the city. Mayor Ward Koeser signed the agreement Wednesday.
