Wednesday's forecast is calling for possible ground blizzard conditions that will start early afternoon and continue on into Thursday morning. Forecasted wind chills for Thursday will be brutally cold.

The National Weather Service issued the Winter Storm Watch, which will go into effect at 3 p.m. Wednesday (January 23rd) and continue until the following morning at 9 a.m.

As seen in the tweet from the NWS, Thursday morning may possibly have dangerous wind chills near 40 below zero.

The potential blizzard conditions mean that blowing snow and strong winds may cause poor visibility. Whiteout conditions are possible and can make travel dangerous.

Temperatures for Wednesday are forecasted to be in the upper 20s, but wind gusts will be near 30 mph. Wednesday night, the forecast calls for temperatures to drop below zero at -4. The wind chill is expected to be around -15. For Thursday, the forecasted high temperature is 3.

Stay warm, Bismarck-Mandan! Brutal wind chills are expected over the next couple of days.
