If you don't want to spend time actually going to the DMV to renew your license once it expires, you no longer have to.

Today (Aug. 14, 2017), ND DOT launched an online page that allows people to renew their North Dakota Driver's License. Anyone below the age of 21 or over the age of 65 will not be able to use the service.

Additionally, you can only renew your license online for every other renewal cycle. So if the next time you renew your license, you do it online, the time after that will have to be done in person.

To renew your license online and to find out if you are eligible to take advantage of the online service, you can go here.

If you choose to renew your license in person (or if you are getting a license for the first time), you can schedule an appointment through ND DOT to avoid longer wait times. You can schedule an in-person appointment here.
