We all know the good that United Way provides to the communities of Bismarck- Mandan, but to get a real feel of everything they do, on an annual basis, was the focus of United Way's Annual Report to the Community and luncheon at the Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck Friday.

In the span of an hour, Untied Way presented various short videos of all the services provided to the community. This was also an opportunity for the organization to honor and recognize various companies and leaders who have made major contributions through out 2013. Townsquare Media-Bismarck-Mandan was recognized for their contribution to United Way for the radio program on Super Talk 1270.

Dignitaries for the luncheon were Governor Jack Dalrymple and First Lady Betsy, Senators Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoven.

A brief snapshot of a few of the many services provided in 2013 by United Way included more than 2 million dollars raised by more than 6000 donors, 1.37 million pounds of food were recovered, more than 97 thousand meals were delivered to seniors and more than 16 thousand backpacks were sent home with children for The Backpack program to provide meals for children through the weekends. There are too many services and programs to mention, but it goes without saying that United Way in important to the communities.

It is through your donations that United Way will continue to do more good in the community into 2014 and beyond.
