Soldier’s Noble Decision to Serve Earns Him ‘Armed Services Appreciation Days’ Win

The final winner of 'Armed Services Appreciation Days' made the selfless decision to serve without a second thought. 

Colton Wald is currently serving with the US Army Reserves and was nominated by his girlfriend, who had nothing but glowing things to say about him:

Although he has never been deployed (not that I'm complaining) he has so much pride in what he does with the Army. Watching him take the steps to go up in rank and work his hardest is truly an amazing feeling as his girlfriend. Now when you ask many people why they joined it's usually the same few answers, " to help pay for college", "it sounded cool", but Colton is definitely one in his own and he's very honest when he answered, "I don't know". Now don't mistake this as him being ungrateful, but like he told me one day I went to a recruiter, came home and said mom sign these papers I'm joining the army, because it was something he decided he wanted to do, and when he sets his mind to something there is usually no going back.
