Lose Weight- this is the most difficult. Seems as though our brains are wired to eat and eat the things that are the most unhealthy. I personally can add this thought, I lost a lot of weight using the ZOLA Diet. (Google it for more info) This diet became a lifestyle for me which I still live by. My thought is this, even though you may learn to eat healthy and better, the brain never forgets the smell and taste of food that is bad for you. It is this fact that makes it difficult. Tobacco- I can add to this also, from being an ex-smoker. If something happen to me and the doctor told me I had a year to live because of some medical condition, I would definitely go back to smoking!

Any ex-smoker will tell you that smoking, even though it's a bad and a unhealthy habit, it is a habit that we enjoy! I still dream about smoking somewhere, out of the way, secretly and getting busted by someone! It actually wakes me up from a sound sleep.

Tobacco is a difficult habit to break. Speaking from my personal experiences, what helped me was to replace that habit with another habit. I started to run, spend time running with my dogs and rewarding myself after each week of being smoke free. I also quit doing the triggers that would make me want to smoke. Drinking coffee and alcohol. After time, I was able to have coffee and booze with out the temptation of a smoke, but it took sometime to get to that point. I used the patch, and it really helped reduce the urges. The government offers this webpage to assist in quitting the use of tobacco.
