BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Burleigh County officials have hired a firm to design a roundabout in an effort to ease traffic congestion.

The Bismarck Tribune reports the Burleigh County Commission approved a $370,000 contract with Bartlett & West on Monday to design and oversee construction of whichever project the county chooses for the intersection of Highway 10 and 66th Street.

County Engineer Marcus Hall says officials may consider projects other than a roundabout, including stop signs or traffic lights. He says the county must follow a public hearing process to discuss the firm's recommendations because federal funds are involved.
